Kane Selection Ltd is representing one of the UK's largest independent suppliers of plant and machinery to the construction, demolition, ports, timber, scrap and recycling sectors. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Sales Manager to lead used equipment sales across the UK on a remote basis.
About the Opportunity
This is a remote sales role with national coverage and significant growth potential. The successful candidate will:
• Take full responsibility for used equipment and attachments sales across the UK
• Manage and develop relationships with construction, demolition, ports, scrap processors, timber operations and recycling facilities
• Promote a comprehensive range of used heavy construction plant equipment
• Work closely with internal sales coordinators, workshop teams, and service engineers to ensure seamless customer delivery
• Represent the business with professionalism, technical knowledge, and a customer-first approach
Work Experience Requirements
• Minimum 3+ years in a sales or account management role within heavy construction plant equipment
• Proven track record in developing and maintaining customer relationships
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to discuss equipment specifications confidently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
• Team player with a proactive, results-driven mindset
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal support teams

• Achieve agreed sales targets for used equipment and attachments
• Visit customer sites regularly to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities
• Prepare quotations using internal systems and liaise with sales coordinators on order processing
• Inspect customer trade-in machines and assess equipment condition and value
• Coordinate with workshop teams on delivery schedules and machine preparation
• Attend industry exhibitions and customer events as required
• Use reporting tools (Power BI) to track stock, timelines, and delivery forecasts
• Understand customer operations and provide value-based equipment solutions
• Proven sales experience in heavy construction plant equipment - closely related equipment or route to market considered
• A background working for a dealer, manufacturer, or end-user in the construction, demolition, scrap, ports, timber or recycling industries
• Strong understanding of plant equipment applications and how machinery performs in real-world conditions
• The ability to manage an existing customer base while actively developing new business
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of business
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the UK
