An established manufacturer of heavy equipment is seeking a Controller to lead financial operations in a heavy manufacturing environment. This is a strategic finance leadership role with direct impact on business performance and decision-making.

- Own the full accounting cycle – month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with accuracy and speed.
- Lead cost accounting, inventory valuation, and job costing across complex manufacturing operations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights that directly inform operational and strategic decisions.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX controls, and audit readiness.
- Manage and develop the accounting team – build capability, accountability, and performance.
- Partner with operations, engineering, and leadership to optimize margins and control costs.
- Drive process improvements, system implementations, and reporting efficiency.
- Prepare executive-level financial reports and present to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate will have:
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance – CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years in accounting with at least 3 years as a Controller or senior finance leader.
- Manufacturing experience required – ideally in heavy equipment, industrial machinery, mining, or capital equipment sectors.
- Strong command of cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis.
- SAP experience required – Sage experience beneficial.
- Sharp analytical skills with the ability to translate numbers into business action.
- Proven leadership ability – you've built and led high-performing finance teams.
